July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 Thursday Evening Happy Hour If you aren't a regular at happy hour yet - shame on you! Come on down and join in the party! This is a bring your own food and beverages event. A great time to relax, meet with friends, catch up on the latest Holiday Point news (and gossip) and discuss plans for the weekend's activities. July 4 7th Annual Margarita Night/Chili Cook-off and July 4th Celebration This has been one of our most popular evening beach parties of the summer. Once again this year, we have combined the Chili Cook-off/Margarita Night with our annual Forth of July celebration! It's gonna be Mexican food and drink mega-party!!! Come along and continue the tradition!. Please bring a Mexican dish (appetizer, entree and/or dessert), entries into the chili cook-off are strongly encouraged - and bring along beverages to share - especially your favorite Margarita recipe or cervesas. Contact Al B. for more information. Donations will be accepted to defray the evening entertainment costs. July 12 Holiday Point Annual Meeting This is your opportunity to participate in the election of officers and discuss topics important to all community members. Please plan to attend! The meeting will begin promptly at 10:00 am. SPECIAL NOTE: The Annual Meeting will be held this year in the SHERMAN SCHOOL CAFETERIA! July 14 Sherman Seniors Meeting at the Main Beach Holiday Point will be host to a group from the Sherman Senior Center that meets on a regular basis. Their meeting at the beach will be as guests of Dorthy C. and Gertrude B. July 26 Sherman Concert In The Park The second Concert In The Park Series sponsored by the Sherman Parks and Recreation Department will be held on this date at Veteran's Field (behind Sherman School. The concert will begin at 5:00 pm and run until 8:00. Admission is free. Bring a blanket and/or a lawn chair and a picnic dinner and join in on the music and fun. The concert will feature a mix of acoustic classic roc and rockand roll music performed by the local group, Cripple Creek, of which two of it's performers are Holiday Point members Bill P. and Al B. July 19 Bazillionth Annual Holiday Point Annual Picnic Join in on the biggest event of the Holiday Point season. All Holiday Point members and their families are welcome to attend. Please contribute a side dish. A small fee to offset cost will be collected. |

August 7, 14, 21, 28 Thursday Evening Happy Hour Time's running out! Only a few more happy hours to go this summer. This is a bring your own food and beverages event. A great time to relax, meet with friends, catch up on the latest Holiday Point news (and gossip) and discuss plans for the weekend's activities. August 2 Annual Sherman Fireman's Ball This is the Sherman Social Event of the Year. Join your friends and become part of the Holiday Point contingent at 'the Ball'. Music, dancing, door prizes and the best roast beef in town! August 9 7th Annual Holiday Point Golf Outing Once again we will be holding our Holiday Point Golf Outing. Come join your neighbors for a day on the links followed by a picnic on the beach . . . life is good on Holiday Point! Please contact Ed H. for details and to register. August 23 6th Annual Holiday Point Wine Tasting This party (held with the sponsorship of the Sherman Spirit Shop) will be an opportunity to sample some great wines, have some great food and enjoy the company of your neighbors at the beach. It has been a huge success for the past two years and promises to be even better this year. There will be a donation required to attend this event. Attendance is also limited, so register early! August 30 5th Annual Lobster Festival Again last year, a record number of lobsters met their fate at the hands of our world famous lobster chefs... well they tasted good enough to have been cooked by famous chefs! Once again we will host the lobster dinner at the beach (please being along an appitizer, side dish or dessert to share). Attendees should place their lobster orders in advance with Ro D., so they can be purchased (at cost). This is another great party for the community and a terrific way to celebrate the end of the summer season on the beach. |
