The 2008 Holiday Point
Capture the Sun Photo Contest!

For the first time, we are holding a photo contest for Holiday Point Members and their friends. The object of this contest is to take photograph of a person (or pet) appearing to Capture the Sun!

Some examples of similar photographs that have appeared on the Internet are shown here.

There will be two classes of competition based on age ... Under 20, and Over 20 ... and prizes will be awarded to the winning photo in each class. The winning photos will also be posted and identified on the Holiday Point Website.

Photos will be reviewed by a panel of five judges who have no direct relationship or connection to any of the entrants.

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE SENT TO AND RECEIVED BY AL B. ON OR BEFORE AUGUST 15, 2008 (you can get the correct email address elsewhere on this website or by calling 860 355 1907).

Winners will be announced at the Lobster Dinner on August 30th.

The General Rules for the competition are as follows:

Only one entry per contestant.
There is NO entry fee
Photo must be received as a digital (or scanned) photograph in .jpg or .gif format, and should not exceed 3 Megabytes in size.
All photos must be submitted as captured. No alterations in the content or image structure of the photos will be permitted, although color enhancement of the overall photo to adjust for exposure problems are permitted
The review panel reserves the right to reject any photo which is considered to be in poor taste or in violation of these general rules
Submission of a photo constitutes permission to use the photo for posting on the Holiday Point Website and other places as deemed appropriate for the promotion of the photos and the winners of the contest.
Deadline for entries is 11:59 pm, August 15th, 2008. No photos received after that time will be accepted for judging.
Entries should be submitted either via Email to Al B. (email address available upon request, or in the members only section of this website) or they can be submitted in physical form on a CD or memory card. No hard copy photographs will be accepted unless prior arrangement has been made to do so.
