to the Sherman Citizens for Equitable Zoning website. This site has been established as an aid to those citizens of Sherman, CT who would like to work with our group in cooperation with the town Planning and Zoning Commission to review and make changes to the zoning ordinances that directly affect the owners of legal non-conforming lots. Our goal is to assist you in learning about the laws which can directly (and in many cases adversely) affect your ability to improve and/or expand your homes, particularly in those cases where your home has been forced into a non-conforming category as a consequence of changes to the town zoning laws over the years. |

Current News - 11/14/03 We are happy to announce that the Sherman Planning and Zoning Commission approved the proposed changes to regulation 321.6 by a 5 to 1 vote, and they approved the proposed changes to regulation 384 by a 6 to 0 vote. Both of the new regulations will take effect on December 1, 2003. We wish to express our appreciation to all of the citizens of Sherman who sent in signatures and appeared at the public hearing to show your support. Together we have taken a big step toward ensuring the equitable treatment under the zoning laws for all home and property owners in the town. |
